Affiliate Disclosure
Last updated: October 20, 2026
LinksVid is a free publication supported by advertising. This page explains how we handle affiliate links and compensated recommendations, and what that means for what you read here.
Current Status: No Affiliate Links
As of the date at the top of this page, LinksVid does not use affiliate links. We do not earn a commission when you open a bank account, apply for a card, open a brokerage account, or buy insurance through a link on this site. Every product or institution mentioned in our articles is mentioned because it illustrates the topic, not because we are paid.
If That Changes
We may add affiliate links in the future — for example, links to a brokerage, a budgeting tool, or a book. If we do, we commit to the following:
- Clear disclosure at the point of the link. Any article containing an affiliate link will carry a disclosure near the top of the article, not buried in the footer, consistent with the FTC's guidance on endorsements and testimonials (16 CFR Part 255).
- No pay-for-placement. A company cannot buy a recommendation, a ranking position, or a positive review. Compensation never determines whether a product appears in an article or how it is described.
- Same standards, compensated or not. Any product we mention is evaluated against the same criteria we publish in our editorial policy — fees, terms, consumer protections, and actual suitability for the reader described.
- Downsides stay in. If a product has a catch — a monthly fee, a lock-up period, a minimum balance, a rate that expires — it stays in the article whether or not there is a commission attached.
Advertising Versus Affiliate Links
These are two different things, and it is worth knowing the difference:
- Display advertising (including Google AdSense) is served programmatically by ad networks. We do not choose which specific ads appear, and we are not paid per reader action on them. Ad placement never influences editorial content.
- Affiliate links are placed by us inside article text and pay a commission if a reader acts. We currently use none.
How This Site Is Funded
Display advertising is the revenue source we are building toward; it is not live across the site yet, and there are no affiliate links today. That model is deliberate: it keeps our incentives aligned with publishing useful, accurate articles rather than pushing a specific product.
